Zero Motorcycles Unveils 2014 Line with up to 171 Mile Riding Range

Prices come down by $1000 for some 2014 models

Zero Motorcycles has been producing electric motorcycles for several years in California. The company has announced a 2014 model line of electric motorcycles including a new accessory for its motorcycles called the Z-Force Power Tank. With that accessory installed on compatible motorcycles, riders can go up to 171 miles in the city and up to 88 miles on the highway per charge.

The Power Tank accessory can be installed on any 2014 Zero S or Zero DS motorcycle. Zero has also unveiled a new Zero SR model for 2014 producing 106 pound-foot of torque and with the ability to reach 60 mph in 3.3 seconds. The entire 2014 line gets improved suspension, new design elements, and a new dash.

The suspension revisions include 43 mm front forks and a reworked rear shock. Pricing for the 2014 Zero S and Zero DS models has decreased by around $1000, these are still very expensive motorcycles. The Zero S starts at $12,995 and the Zero DS starts at the same $12,995 price. The Zero SR model starts at $16,995. The Power Tank accessory is $2495.
