UK department store John Lewis has a tradition of releasing Christmas TV ads. This year they are reaching new heights with an animated 2 minute advertisement classic Disney style. The hand-drawn animated commercial costs (£7 million) $11 million to make.

The John Lewis Christmas Advert 2013 debuts today during the UK X Factor show. You can already watch the 2 minute animated classic master piece below. It is a cute Christmas story about the friendship between a bear and a hare. The new unique John Lewis commercial uses a unique animation style that combines traditional 2D hand-drawn animation, stop frame, and 3D model made sets. The story is set to a cover of Keane's 'Somewhere Only We Know' performed by Lily Allen.

The story opens as winter is starting to draw in, and the fun and excitement of preparing for Christmas begins. As the first snowflake falls and lands on the bear’s nose, the hare starts to feel sad, as he realizes that winter is nearing and soon his friend will be leaving to hibernate and will once again be missing Christmas.
