Apple is looking for a new chip provider and Global Foundries is strongly indicated to work with the tech giant

Apple Balla reports that Apple is looking to make a deal with New York based Global Foundries in order to construct chips used in its mobile and tablet devices.

According to Albany Times Union, reliable sources say that Global Foundries is strongly expected to start working on developing Apple’s chip at its factory within a short period of time.

Though Samsung builds most of Apple’s chip, the tech giant is looking to lessen the dependence to the Korean company as a result of recent patent battles as well as tough competition in the technological market.

Nevertheless, Samsung will still be working with Apple as its top chip provider. On the other hand, Global Foundries will also involve with the chip building procedure.

In addition to Global Foundries, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is also strongly expected to work with Apple’s chip.

Both Apple and Global Foundries haven’t declared about the partnership yet.
