The new Fox channel FXX secured the rights to The Simpsons reruns and also the online streaming rights.

The Simpson are going to be streamed for the first time online thanks to a new contract that Fox's new channel FXX made. FXX announced that they got the rights to 24 seasons of The Simpsons and will get the 25th season in September of 2014.

This is big as this deal might be worth about $500 million according to a report on Rolling Stone.

FXX will launch a mobile app called FXNow that is likely going to offer The Simpsons as streaming online video. If the channel will offer The Simpsons episodes also online on a website remains to be seen.
