Joan Jett was supposed to perform on the South Dakota float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2013. The problem is not everybody in South Dakota likes this choice because she is a vegan. Now Joan Jett gave in and jumps floats.

The famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has its first scandal this year. Rock legend Joan Jett was booked to perform on the South Dakota float. As reported, the South Dakota livestock famers raise a red flag as Joan Jett is a vegetarian and an activist for animal rights group PETA. The farmers say that Joan Jett is not the right choice to represent South Dakota.

A Macy's Parade Spokesman announced before the weekend that they are moving Joan Jett of the South Dakota float. She will perform on another float according to Daily Mail. The Parade just does not want to be involved in any political troubles. It is all just about entertaining people. It has not yet been revealed on which float Joan Jett will perform.

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is a huge televised event. Each year, more than 3.5 million people in New York and over 50 million people at home watch the Parade.

The 87th Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade will start at 9am and will have 8,000 participants.
