Apple TV gets new channels: Bloomberg, Crackle, and Watch ABC

Although the Apple TV's roadmap is uncertain, it recently added new channels this year - HBO Go, WatchESPN, Sky News, Crunchyroll, Qello, and just recently, Yahoo Screen and PBS.

This shows that the Apple TV, which had been described by Steve Jobs as a hobby, is still on a roll, although fans are already yearning for an updated TV platform, let alone a new set-top box or the rumored Apple iTV. Today, new channels have been added to the device. Among them are Bloomberg TV, Crackle, Watch ABC, and the Korean channel, KOR-TV.

Speaking to 9to5Mac, Bloomberg's Head of Mobile Connected Devices, Oke Okaro, says that the Apple TV's toolkit made it "quite easy to build the apps," adding that it took his team just five weeks to finish it.

Okaro explains that Bloomberg maintains the backend of the app and that Apple had little involvement in the development process. If the SDK develops into an open tool, developers will certainly see it as good news.
