Apple iWatch tipped for October 2014 Launch

iWatch rumored to debut with new iPhone

A new rumor is making the rounds reports BGR that the long talked about and anticipated Apple iWatch will launch in October of 2014. That puts the launch of the watch nearly a year away. The iWatch is tipped to be unveiled alongside the next generation iPhone.

The source of the rumor claims that Apple is also making big strides in wearable prototypes. The prototypes reportedly use 100 mAh batteries and can charge wirelessly from a distance of up to one meter from the charge plate.

The Apple device would have to be power miserly indeed for a 100 mAh battery to deliver the runtime expected. The Galaxy Gear smart watch has a battery over three times that capacity. The idea may be that the user can have a charge cradle near their desk at home or the office and the watch will stay automatically topped off. There is also the chance that the rumored battery size is incorrect.
