The college football bowl season kicks off on Saturday with a slate of four games. It begins a wild stretch of 35 games over 17 days that culminates with the BCS National Championship game on Jan. 6 between Florida State and Auburn from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. The hottest ticket, not surprisingly, is the BCS title game with prices topping $1,500 on the secondary market. ESPN is the dominate broadcaster The typical Rose Bowl ticket will set you back $950 if you haven’t already secured one. Coaches have big win bonuses on the line, led by Auburn’s Gus Malzahn ($375,000) and Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher ($225,000).

ESPN and its sister networks are the broadcaster of choice for all by four of the bowl games. The worldwide leader secured the rights to the playoff system for the next 12 years in a deal worth $470 million a year.
