Giada De Laurentiis can usually be found cooking up heart-healthy meals on the Food Network. But recently, she tried her hand at modeling for a change at New York Fashion Week. And she loved every single second of it.

She is in her forties and the author of a famous recipe book. Giada De Laurentiis however decided to swap roles for a while and so she took to the catwalk. Wearing a bright red dress that made her look sexy and sizzling, the chef showed the world what she had in the way of modeling chops.

Afterwards, Giada confessed that it was a difficult job. She had in the past thought that models had it so easy. But in fact it was a tiresome parade they had to go through each day on the ramp.

The red dress she wore was meant to highlight heart health for females. And although it is males who mainly die of heart attacks, nowadays the females are catching up thanks to modern junk food and unhealthy lifestyle.

The red gown that Giada wore was by the famous designer, Carolina Herrera. It had a cleavage-revealing neckline and was slit down the front showing one leg.

The Italian-born Giada comes from a famous family of actors and actresses. She positively came out in support of heart healthy recipes for females. Over 500,000 females die of heart attack in the United States each year.

Giada also confessed that her little daughter loved to cook delicious and nutritious stuff alongside mommy. Kim Basinger and Colbie Caillat were also present at the modeling debut.

Giada furthermore told the reporters that she always preferred fresh and natural meals. She spoke of how she had just had a banana milkshake with nuts before she came to the event.
