Powerball Jackpot Increases to $284 Million

The Powerball jackpot increased to $284 million since there was no winner this time around. That is a colossal sum and the lucky winner for the next draw will be very fortunate indeed.

It’s been more than a dozen times since the Powerball lottery began operations. There have been no jackpot winners till now. When it began, the jackpot amount was $40 million. And it has steadily increased over time.

Ten winners had matched the first five numbers of a prize worth one million dollars. They included individuals from California, Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Texas and West Virginia.

The interaction of the forces of game-play involved in the famous lottery generated several winners. And where there were no winners the amount that remained unclaimed went to make up the jackpot. The Power Play lottery is invalid in California though where the laws necessary for the lucky draw do not apply.

Among the numbers that were revealed this Saturday were: 24, 25, 34, 37 and 54. The next time the draw will take place on Wednesday. Upon the purchase of a raffle ticket for Powerball, a contribution to the jackpot prize automatically gets made.

Currently, the sweepstakes are played in over 43 states of the US. Another state is all set to jump on the bandwagon. This would be Wyoming. Its denizens want to try their luck and see if they win. The winner numbers are regularly published for the lottery participants’ benefit.
