Apple job listing seeks worker for unannounced new platforms

New platforms could be the iWatch or Apple HDTV

When it comes to Apple, people turn to any source of information possible to glean what the company might be working on next. Among the long rumored new product categories that Apple rumors maintain are in the works are the iWatch and an Apple HDTV. A new job listing has turned up at Apple seeking a worker for new unannounced platforms at Apple reports Apple Insider.

The job listing is seeking an Instrumentation Design/NPI Engineer and was posted this week. The job is seeking a hardware expert to help usher in new products. The listing says that the person hired will work on existing major platforms along with "new platforms as of unannounced."

That could be the iWatch or Apple HDTV. Those unannounced platforms could be something else altogether. The money for Apple today comes from three major platforms including the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The Apple TV set to box is in there, but it's a hobby more than a fourth platform.

The listing also notes that the new worker will be working on the Mac, iPad, iPhone, and assorted accessories. The listing is seeking a hardware engineering test design lead for the Apple New Product Introduction team. Apple has promised a big year for new products this year.

There wasn’t much in the way of new items last year, leading some to say Apple had forgot how to innovate. Apple promises that there will be new launches throughout 2014. Tim Cook has also said that some products will be new categories.
