Titanfall Beta Registration is Now Open For All On PC And Xbox One

Last night EA/Respawn took Titanfall beta registration live, and you can now head here to try and sign up for yourself. The beta is for PC or Microsoft’s Xbox One, and you’ll only be asked a few simple questions before being considered. Beta registration closes mid afternoon Pacific Time on Friday, and invites will be sent out by email no later than midnight on February 17th.

The event will serve as a stress test for the game which really does need a flawless launch to avoid being the next online-based game premiere disaster, something we’ve seen a lot of recently, particularly from EA titles like Battlefield 4 and SimCity. Three game modes will be playabe, deathmatch “Attrition,” Hardpoint Domination and Last Titan Standing, a search and destroy type game that has you trying to eliminate all enemy Titans which do not respawn.

EA has also premiered a brand new trailer to celebrate the kick-off of beta registration, which you can check out below;

It’s not too terribly much we haven’t seen before, but I can’t say I’ve ever watched footage from this game that doesn’t look incredibly intense. There’s a reason Titanfall has a fair amount of hype behind it, and now I suppose we get to see if it lives up to expectations.

I do like the decision of Respawn to not factor in game preorders to beta registration as its competition Destiny has. That’s a whole new rabbit hole of preorder madness I don’t think we want to fall down, and I’m on board for a more traditional lottery system. Even if I don’t end up getting a ticket, it’s the best way to do it.

So head here and sign up for yourself. Spend the rest of the week crossing your fingers, and hopefully I’ll see you out on the battlefield.
