Full breakfast menu launches March 27 at Taco Bell

Taco Bell has been selling us all Mexican food and other items for a number of years that are cheap and at times of questionable quality. As you have probably noticed, Taco Bell has never been open for breakfast but that is changing next month.

Starting on March 27, Taco Bell will begin serving a breakfast menu each morning with some interesting items on the list reports CBS News. The most interesting of them all is a Waffle Taco. The waffle is a traditional breakfast food in many countries.

In the Taco Bell item, the single waffle is folded like a taco shell and it has sausage or bacon inside with eggs and cheese. It sounds pretty darn good. Taco bell will also offer an AM grilled taco, a couple sandwich wraps, and a breakfast burrito. Taco Bell will serve breakfast until 11am, McDonalds ends breakfast at 10:30.

"We can turn the breakfast conversation into a two-horse race," Taco Bell President Brian Niccol said in an interview, noting that Taco Bell intends to be a "strong No. 2" after McDonalds'.

Taco Bell has been testing the breakfast menu in a number of its 6000 locations in the US for the last several months. The locations have added more staff and trained staff on breakfast menus. I don’t expect that training to means much with the penchant for copious mistakes my local store has.

McDonalds' Kevin Newell said, "I think they're going to find that going into the breakfast business is not like what they're accustomed to, in terms of marketing."
