Bindi Irwin Criticized for Supporting SeaWorld

Bindi Irwin caused a storm in a teacup after she announced out of the blue in a show that she would be joining SeaWorld Entertainment. Appearing on Good Morning America, the famous teen who has followed in her even more famous father’s footsteps said she was so excited to join the marine wildlife team at Orlando.

Her mom Terri and sibling Robert were with her all along. She claimed that she was emulating her dearly beloved dad, Steve Irwin. The Crocodile Hunter had died a couple of years ago of an accident where a stingray barb penetrated his heart.

His tragic loss inspired Bindi to take on the wildlife challenge and succeed like him in taming the instinctually free Nature red in tooth and claw.

What remains unclear is how much she is being given in cash terms from SeaWorld. She further claimed to be a symbol for kids who loved the Great Outdoors. However, several of her fans and followers are deeply unhappy about this rash decision of hers.

They claim she has sold out like the rest of the commercialized lot. Her father on the contrary was a man of dignity and moral scruples. He would not allow any animal to be harmed by anyone. But SeaWorld Entertainment has a bad reputation of neglecting its killer whales.

And this was clearly caught on film in the form of a documentary Blackfish. After the documentary came out into the open last year, many mass protests against this cruelty to animals occurred.

PETA, Willie Nelson and the Beach Boys were the VIP organization and individuals who were part of the uprising against this evil. Bindi however appears to be ignorant regarding this obvious blemish on SeaWorld’s otherwise spotless record.

Several of her admirers took to Twitter and argued, protested and pleaded with her regarding her foolish choice. It remains to be seen what path Bindi Irwin will take after having been warned by her fan following.
