Neve Campbell got to play a new part in Mad Men. She discussed her role recently but was silent about any future developments.

Neve Campbell of Scream fame landed herself a plush role as a 60s widow in a recent Mad Men episode. She gets to seduce Don Draper in the capacity of a luscious woman whose husband has long since died.

On the flight together, the two doze off within close proximity of each other. This is definitely a good change for Neve, who has never played such a flirtatious and vixen-like role before.

Her cat-and-mouse game with Don Draper was something Neve was quite eager to do. She read the script and made all the necessary preparations. The directions she was given were very specific.

Neve Campbell at one point even tried to improvise some of the scenes but she was strictly forbidden from doing so. It had to be kept to the bare bones as far as reality was concerned.

Neve’s character was one of a lonely widow who had lost someone very important in her life and who was struggling to find true love on a novel basis. And she finds the ideal soul mate on that flight from LA to NYC.

The fact that Neve’s flirting does not penetrate the defenses built up by Don Draper is a source of extreme chagrin for her. He is pretty much a lady’s man and the fact that he puts up a little resistance in her case makes her mad at the man (pun intended).

When he declines her offer which she virtually extends to him on a tray, the two finally enter a period of sedative bliss. But that is after they have shared some memories and gotten quite comfortable with each other.

Neve didn’t really sleep though since she was surrounded by five dozen people who were taking shots from every angle and retouching her hair and makeup. Neve is mum about the future but she may still be a part of the episodes so the audience ought to keep their fingers crossed.
