Guitarist Malcolm young is suffering form an illness according to sources

News has been circulating that the rock and roll band AC/DC is set to retire. The band has been touring for years now and the rumors of retirement surfaced when guitarist Malcolm Young is said to have suffered a serious illness. Billboard reports that insiders that know what is going on with the band says that these reports are untrue.

However, the band's current management staff and its record label, Columbia Records haven't spoken out on these rumors. The retirement rumor reportedly started with an email sent to an Australian radio station in Perth.

This latest retirement rumor isn't the first to make its way around about the band. Lead singer Brian Johnson said, "A journalist asked me once, 'What do you think about retirement, Brian, seeing as you're getting older?' I said something honest and quite naive; I said, 'Well, I'll retire when I can't do it anymore and as soon as I feel I can't do it anymore, then I'll retire.' Next thing I now there's a headline, 'Brian Johnson's gonna retire' and I'm like, 'Y'know, what a piece of shit that guy is.' And it came out all wrong so you got to be careful what you say. Retirement is like anything... There's a time when you have to call it quits. I don't want to do it, and if we can get out and (do) the album and do another short little tour or something, have a bit of fun, I'm your man. I'll be right there."

AC/DC is said to be getting ready to go into the studio with six weeks of time booked to work on a new album. That is great news for fans of the band.
