Microsoft Office for iPad Hits 27M Downloads

Microsoft announced yesterday that the Office for iPad app has hit 27 million downloads in just six weeks after its launch.

Microsoft is very happy with the success of the new Office for iPad app that was just launched six weeks ago. Office for iPad proved to be a big hit as it had been downloaded about 27 million times since its launch.

Julia White, Microsoft's GM of Office Division, revealed the news at the TechEd customer conference in Houston. 27 million downloads is a pretty huge number. In fact, the download figure doubled in just a month’s time.

Microsoft's Office for iPad apps hit 12 million downloads just after a week of its launch. Tech giant tweeted on April 3rd that Office for iPad apps had been downloaded more than 12 million times.

Microsoft offers Office for iPad app free to all of its paid subscribers of the cloud version of Office, Office 365. The subscription costs users an annual fee of $100.
