Xiaomi's 49-inch Android TV boasts 4K for just $640

The TV comes with a 4K display along with a Bluetooth remote

We have already heard about the Mi Pad but this wasn’t the only surprise which Xiaomi had for us. In another announcement today, the Chinese company revealed the larger version of its first smart TV which was launched last year in September. The version we have today is slightly larger than the previous one and features the 4K display and is going to be priced at CN¥3,999 or about $640.

There are couple of similarities between both the models and just like the previous one, this new model of 49-inch comes with built-in Android (with MIUI TV skin). However, you will also be allowed to side load other apps as well. As far as the hardware is concerned, the TV is going to feature a 4K 3D panel which will either be made by LG or CSOT within a 6.2mm aluminum bezel. Inside this is the MediaTek MStar 6A918 chip (1.45GHz quad-core CPU, Mali-450 MP4 GPU) plus 2GB of RAM which is going to drive all those pixels. You will get the TV with a built-in 8GB space but the micro SD allows you to expand storage by up to up to 64GB.

The TV will also be equipped with some pretty interesting features including the Bluetooth LE remote, a wired audio bar with the mid-range and treble drivers, and a Bluetooth subwoofer with the 8-inch driver. With this TV, the company is also planning to improve and keep a check on its production rates as well.
