The maker of wildly popular game Temple Run says that the game has been downloaded more than 1 billion times.

Imangi Studios revealed today that their game Temple Run surpassed 1 billion downloads. The count includes the download numbers of Temple Run and the sequel Temple Run 2. Imangi also said that 60% of the Temple Run gamers are women. With over 36% most gamers come from China. US is second with a 21% share.

Temple Run is an endless runner type game developed by a small respectively small developer. Imangi Studios was founded by husband and wife team Keith Shepherd and Natalia Luckyanova in 2008. In 2011 the company hit gold with Temple Run. There is also talk about a Temple Run movie. Is this Angry Birds all over again?
