The cute Belgian Soccer fan that scored a modeling contract after her photo went viral. Now the contract has been terminated - likely because of the Safari hunting photo. Her Facebook page is also gone.

So the fairy tale of the beautiful young Belgian soccer fan has already come to an end again. Axelle Despiegelaere scored a modeling contract with L'Oreal after photos of her supporting the Belgian team in Brazil went viral. Yesterday the controversy about a hunting photo that shows Axelle with a rifle next to a dead gazelle raised quite a controversy. Now The Independent reports that L'Oreal has already ended the modeling contract with Axelle Despiegelaere.

L'Oreal says that they company only collaborated with Axelle ad hoc for a national campaign and the contract has now been completed. L'Oreal was aware of the safari photo before the contract and likely the whole modeling contract was from the start just a short lived guerrilla marketing project by L'Oreal leveraging Axelle Despiegelaere sudden fame. It appears also that the official Axelle Despiegelaere Facebook page has been deleted. Looks like Axelle has not been successful turning her sudden fame into gold.
