Apple plans on achieving this high-level of functionality and features courtesy of sensors embedded in the watch strap

Did we think that we would get something from the Apple smartwatch which is already featured on the mainstream smartwatches out there? We are certainly wrong in this aspect because Apple is not one of those who go with the usual and this is what we got to know from the iTime patent which Apple was granted. The patent is for Apple’s smartwatch which is not only there to serve the purpose of showing notifications from the connected smartphone. The Apple iTime, loaded with extra features such as proximity sensing, wrist and arm gestures, GPS positioning, is going to be much more than just that.

The patent tells us that the iTime is not just going to be an ordinary smartwatch and the number of sensors on the device already tells us that well enough. Apple only wants to focus on the functionality of the device which is of course going to be high level. The device is also going to feature different straps which the users can change according to the feature they would like to use. These straps will be equipped with GPS, haptic feedback, gesture sensing (extending to arm and wrist movement), and wireless communication. These straps are not the only new feature which we have come across, but the iTime is also going to feature an iPod nano like touchscreen media player which is obviously going to come with a much superior technology.
