Erin Andrews, the sports newscaster, has been thoroughly insulted by Kirk Minihane. This has resulted in certain actions which were taken by Fox Sports.
Erin Andrews has been on the receiving end of much online criticism. Being the butt of many jokes and endless critique could make almost anyone cringe with sensitivity and fear.

The media bashing became especially rabid after Erin was to become the substitute for Pam Oliver at Fox Sports. Kirk Minihane in particular talked about her in a manner that was redolent of sexism and obnoxious rudeness.
Kirk was discussing an in-depth interview that Erin had once done with Adam Wainwright. During the course of the discussion, Kirk became loud and extravagant in his speech.
He reportedly called Erin a word reserved for female canines. He went ahead and used the expletive several times in a row. He also pointed out her mistakes and said she was downright stupid.
“What a b—!” Minihane said on the Dennis and Callahan show last week. “I hate her! What a gutless b—! Seriously, go away. Drop dead. I mean, seriously, what the hell is wrong with her? First of all, follow up. Second of all, the guy admitted he did it. He admitted it. He told reporters he threw a couple of pipe bombs.”
“How is that social media’s fault? I hate her. I seriously hate her so much. Social media is the reason she has a big house! Shut up. Shut up. I shouldn’t call her a b—, I’m sure she’s a nice person.”

Later on Minihane apologized in a short segment for his rude and vulgar comments about Erin. He said that he was sorry he used that word for Erin.
But halfway through his contrition act, he actually had the guts to retract from his position and start the insulting behavior once again. He said that he agreed with the fact that he used that word.
“I used a word to reference Erin Andrews that I shouldn’t have used to reference Erin Andrews,” Minihane said in his apology. “I will completely cop to that. I said it. I admit. That was a mistake using that word … I just feel like it was the wrong time to use that specific word to describe her.”
But Minihane said that it was just the wrong time to use the word. Otherwise according to him things were just hunky dory. And he went on to say that he stood by his position that she was not a very fit person to handle her job.
Then he once again went into a tirade about why Fox Sports had hired her in the first place. Minihane had the audacity to blurt out the line that had she been only a few pounds heavier, she would have been a waitress in some restaurant.
“I will say this: I think she stinks at her job,” he added. “I don’t think she’s very smart. I don’t think she comes across as very smart. I think Fox only hired her because she’s good-looking. I think if she weighed 15 pounds more she’d be a waitress at Perkins. I mean, that’s what I believe. I do believe that. I just do.”
This was the final insult. The president of Fox Sports, Eric Shanks, sent a missive to the entertainment company where Kirk Minihane was employed and complained vociferously about this display of radical honesty.
Fox Sports will not be advertising on the Entercom Communications network any longer. And as for Minihane, he will be suspended for a week for his repulsive and nasty behavior.
