Denzel Washington told the press about his nasty encounter with the “N” word during his shooting of a movie recently.

Denzel Washington is an Oscar winning actor. But he still have many more wishes. He wants to host “Saturday Night Live” and also wants to work in more comedy films.

And the 59-year-old also wants to become next James Bond. One of his fans asked if he would be interested in playing the role of James Bond during a Reddit AMA. He said “Yes.”

“The next James Bond? They better hurry up! Yes I would! Who's doing James Bond now…Daniel Craig! Did they shoot another one? Everybody should tweet Denzel is James Bond! Send it to the studio!“ Washington wrote. “We start the Denzel is Bond campaign today! James Washington. Denzel Bond!”

Meanwhile, Denzel Washington was shooting The Equalizer when he came up against the “N” word which made him think twice about the progress the West has made with regard to racism. It was in Boston that Denzel faced a racial profiling incident that left him reeling.

“That was the taste I had in my mouth about Boston,” Washington said on Sunday.

He got into a fight due the sheer negativity of the insult that was hurled his way by some racist pigs on the street. The handsome Black American actor made the confession at a press conference.

In ordinary circumstances, Denzel lets such small events go by him as minor irritants in life. But this time the issue was a serious one and he especially mentioned it at the conference.

He also told the press about how he was once called a pimp and his wife, Pauletta Pearson, a prostitute by the hotel security when Denzel went to visit her wife in a hotel in Boston. And the extremely derogatory words “nigger” and “hey boy” got used to describe him on the street.

“The last real fight I had was in Boston,” Washington said. “I came up to visit her and security tried to suggest that I was a pimp and she was a prostitute and I couldn’t stay in the room. Security came to the door. I wasn’t boxing then (he has become quite proficient since).

“I didn’t know how to fight but I knew how to win. I knew how to win! There’s a difference. But that was the taste ... and walking to her show one night being called a ‘nigger’.”

Washington was just a kid when he heard the word “nigger” for the first time. His mom was intelligent enough to console him and tell him that it was just jealous folks that never had any real talent who used that word to describe Black Americans.

Washington has stood his ground well since that day way back in his life history. His experience tells him that poverty and racism go hand in hand. Washington also mentioned that Boston had blue collar roots and while he had no issues with a whole city, he did face some nasty insults while he was there.

Denzel is an extremely accomplished actor who has appeared in such famous films as The Streets of Philadelphia and Training Day. He brings all his talents and focuses them with laser-like precision in his acting.

That is why Denzel is so rich and famous. The fact that still after having achieved the impossible he is denigrated means that the world has a long way to go before it achieves equality and true respect based upon humanity instead of the color of someone’s skin.
