Apple is reportedly going to launch its bigger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 version in limited quantity alongside 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model on September 19th.

Today is the big Apple day. There are reportedly two versions of the new iPhone 6 smartphone that Apple is expected to announce today at its big media event.

But a current report from AppleInsider suggests that both of these iPhone models are to be displayed before the world on September 19th. Furthermore, there are rumors that the larger iPhone 6 version may get delayed.

But then certain new rumors came along and according to them no such thing was going to happen. However, the stock available could fluctuate. Especially, the larger one may face a dearth quantity-wise.

And while the smaller version has had many previews, the larger one has been kept under wraps. The internal model number of 4.7-inch iPhone 6 can be N61, while N56 can be the model number of bigger 5.5-inch iPhone 6.

It is also being rumored that the smaller number will be the normal iPhone 6 while its larger counterpart will be called the iPhone 6 Plus. They will both be much bigger than the iPhone 5s.

Both the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 models are expected to be showcased by Apple at its media event on Tuesday, scheduled to be announced today by Apple during its bog media event that will kick off at 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern.

Both the brand new iPhone 6 models will feature same revolutionary design elements, rounded glass corners, smooth outer shells and oversized acoustic buttons. However, the two iPhone 6 models will have different sizes of display screens with different resoilutions i.e. 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches display screens respectively. As for the internal specifications…they are pretty much the same.

Among the predictions for the two iPhone models is that the costlier one will have a price tag a hundred bucks higher than the lower end one. According to reports, the 5.5 inches phone will reportedly have 3X Retina Resolution Power of 2208×1242 at 461 ppi while 4.7-inch is expected to have 2X resolution of 1334×750 at 326 ppi.

As for its battery life, it will be an extended long life one alright. Daringfireball's John Gruber "think the 5.5-inch model will have a starting price $100 higher, and that the new iPhone lineup will look like this (based on U.S. subsidized prices, with two-year carrier contracts):

New 5.5-inch iPhone: $299/399/499

New 4.7-inch iPhone: $199/299/399

iPhone 5S: $99

iPhone 5C: “free”

I suspect now the whole point of the iPhone 5C was to get to this point, where the plastic iPhone and the “free” iPhone are one and the same. Next year, I wouldn’t expect the 5S to move down to “free”; instead, I would expect an iPhone 5CS — a 5C-style plastic iPhone with 5S internals and features (like Touch ID).

I’m hoping that all storage tiers get doubled — that the “free” phone goes from 8 to 16 GB, the $99 one from 16/32 to 32/64, and the two new ones go from 16/32/64 to 32/64/128."

There are even rumors of an iWatch somewhere in the mix. Alongside the launch of two new iPhones, Apple is also expected to unveil iWatch, iPad Air 2, iOS 8 and Mac OS X at its today's big event.

The products by Apple are always sophisticated ones that shine out in their performance and space age design. And the wearable devices and handheld gadgets too are cool and classic in their extra-electronic ensembles. There is a certain visual and functional edge to Apple’s mental-manufactures.

Whether it was the Macintosh computer or the iPod or for that matter the iPad, Apple continues to churn out surprise after surprise. It is a master dream factory that can equal Hollywood in its capacity to squeeze out high tech toys that divert the attention of every adult from socializing to technologizing instead. And for that it deserves a pat on the back alright.
