An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 hit west of Tahoe Vista yesterday. No injuries were reported.

On the evening of Wednesday, at about 5:08 p.m., an earthquake of a magnitude of 3.5 hit the northwest side of Lake Tahoe, California.

According to the U.S. Geological Service, the depth of this earthquake was about four miles at the northwest side of Lake Tahoe.

The effects of Lake Tahoe earthquake was also felt in nearby cities including:

The southeast of Truckee, California (12km away),

WNW of Carson City, Nevada (29km away),

NNW of South Lake Tahoe, California (34km away), and

SW of Reno, Nevada (40km away).

However, no one got injured as a result of this shallow earthquake. Also no damages were reported.
