“Record Number” of iPhone Pre-orders

Pre-sales for the iPhone 6 began on Friday and of course it made a big deal and lots of people tried to get their share on the orders. And because of this overload, there were tones of challenges faced by the iPhoe 6 as people had to go through sites not loading to error messages. According to what AT&T spokesman Mark Siegel told Re/code with the iPhone 6, we have seen a tremendous increase in the demand for the Apple phone as compared to the demand in the past two years.

The pre order allotments for the new iPhone 6 Plus have already been sold through by Apple and all the leading carriers in the country and they have all confirmed that the shipments for this larger version will take longer. For instance Verizon quoted a mid October time for shipment for the 64 GB iPhone 6 Plus as well as AT&T which said the shipment would be 35-42 days away, putting it somewhere in the October time zone. Apple also has similar shipment information as its websites quotes ship times of three weeks to four weeks for this same model.

Sprint on the other hand seemed to have been facing some issues as its website went down on Friday and was displaying a “We’ll be back” error message at times. And those who took to the T-Mobile for their iPhone order had to face a message that said “Due to high demand, your Apple product may not be available for immediate shipping. Once we are able to complete your order, you will receive a notification when your product has shipped.”
