US Women soccer player Hope Solo broke the record for most shutouts.

Famous US Soccer goalkeeper Hope Solo reached another milestone in her career. Hope Solo beat the U.S. record with 72 shutouts. She surpassed Briana Scurry’s previous record of 71 shutouts  that were accumulated over 173 matches. Hope Solo just needed 154 games starting in 2000.

Hop Solo’s first cap and shutout was in April of 2000 and was also an 8-0 win over Iceland. Yesterday the US soccer team won against Mexico 8-0. The U.S. Women’s National Team demolished Mexico in the first of a two-game set against its CONCACAF opponent.

The United States and Mexico meet again on Thursday, Sept. 18, at Sahlen’s Stadium in Rochester, New York (7 p.m. ET, ESPN2 and Watch ESPN). These matches serve as the final preparation heading into CONCACAF Women’s Championship starting in mid-October.

Hope Solo had some private problems in Summer. She got charged with the offense of striking her sister and nephew in a disturbance at a Kirkland Wash. home. There will be trial on Nov. 4.
