ZTE Launches 5.7-inch ZMAX On T-Mobile

ZTE is expanding its footprint in the U.S. The ZMAX should help the Chinese company gather more customers into its fold.

ZTE has announced an exclusive "phablet" for Uncarrier customers at T-Mobile. The ZTE ZMAX features a 5.7-inch HD display, making it an ideal phone for viewing videos and reading news. Another selling point is its LTE capability, a nifty feature for heavy Internet users.

Now to the battery. The ZMAX has an ample 3,400mAh battery which can last for a day, depending, of course, on the usage. The display resolution is 1,280 x 720, so don't expect to get the same crispness on the iPhone 6. But, hey, for only $10.50 a month (24 months) or 252 off-contract, the ZMAX is a good phone for the price.

Other features that you should remember are the 8-megapixel camera on the back, 1.6-megapixel camera on the front, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Android 4.4 KitKat. Interestingly, the RAM is pretty ample, and you can upgrade the storage through microSD.

The ZTE ZMAX will be available at participating T-Mobile retail stores and online on September 24. ZTE is expanding its footprint in the U.S. The ZMAX should help the Chinese company gather more customers into its fold. Those on T-Mobile, care to share your thoughts on the phone?
