New Kindle Voyage is the thinnest, most advanced Kindle ever

Amazon has introduced the 7th generation of Kindle: Kindle Voyage yesterday which is the most advanced e-reader ever along with the new $79 Kindle which offers a 20% faster processor, twice the storage and on top of all that it offers a touch interface as well. Let us welcome the Kindle and Kindle Voyage, the details of which have already been posted on the official website of Amazon.

Jeff Bezos, Founder and CEO, has said “Our mission with Kindle is to make the device disappear, so you can lose yourself in the author’s world. Kindle Voyage is the next big step in this mission. With the thinnest design, highest resolution and highest contrast display, reimagined page turns, and all of the features that readers love about Kindle—books in seconds, no eyestrain or glare, readability in bright sunlight, and battery life measured in weeks, not hours—Kindle Voyage is crafted from the ground up for readers.”

The $199 Kindle Voyage has also been tagged as “Our Most Advanced E-Reader” by Amazon and with a new design this kindle comes with the thinnest form factor so far. Let us have a look at some of the most important features of the Kindle Voyage;

All-New Design—The Thinnest Kindle Ever

The all new design that everyone is talking about here is the beautiful flush glass front and a magnesium back which all makes it strong, thin, and light. Kindle Voyage is the thinnest device that Amazon has ever built and is just 7.6 mm thin and weighing less than 6.4 ounces. This makes it more portable and users can hold it for hours without getting tired.

Next Generation Paperwhite Display

With a brand new Paperwhite display, Kindle Voyage offers the highest resolution, highest contrast, and highest brightness. The gadget delivers laser-quality text and images with its 300 pixels per inch resolution and say goodbye to all the scratches because of the exclusive flush-front display stack that uses specially strengthened glass.

Adaptive Front Light—Our Smartest Front Light

The front light is 39% brighter, making it the brightest of all front lights of Amazon and apart from this there is a new feature that allows the adaptive front light to automatically adjust the brightness of the display based on the surrounding light. The best part about the device is that you can fine tune the light according to your personal preferences because every human doesn’t have the same light tolerances and preferences.

PagePress—Reimagined Page Turns

Here is a new way to turn your pages as Kindle introduces the PagePress which uses a custom-designed force sensor that sits directly under the bezel. With this new method you can simply rest your thumb on the bezel and turn the page by lightly pressing. A tactile feedback is delivered from a haptic actuator once you turn the page. This actuator delivers enough vibration to let you know you turned the page but it is subtle enough not to cause any disturbance.

Free 3G and New Origami cover

The Kindle is available with free 3G so you no longer have to worry about hunting for or paying for a WiFi hotspot. You can simply download and read books anytime you want. The best-selling Origami covers for Fire tablets is what the inspiration is for the new origami-style cover design. The cover can magnetically attach itself which means that it is easier to take off and on.
