With the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple intends to take the crown for the best display back.

Apple’s track record of displays has always been very flawless and if we recall this high pixel density craze began with its first ever smartphone. With the iPhone 4 Retina, the fruit company manufactured a high pixel density display and ever since then it has been known for having displays which are highly calibrated and color accurate to a large degree. Though the early mover advantage was cashed upon tremendously by Apple the hegemony in this regard couldn’t be continued for too long because intense competition soon took over.

This lead has been lost by Apple over the past couple of years and now we see most of the other Android manufacturers having better displays on their phones. However, we are getting vibes that Apple is once again back on the leading track with the new iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus which will surely crown Apple for having the best displays in the market so far.

We can see this happening from what DisplayMate had to say after it tested the displays for both the models;

"Based on our extensive Lab tests and measurements, the iPhone 6 Plus is the Best performing Smartphone LCD display that we have ever tested. It delivers uniformly consistent all around Top Tier display performance. The iPhone 6 Plus is only the second Smartphone display (LCD or OLED) to ever get all Green (Very Good to Excellent) Ratings in all test and measurement categories (except for Brightness variation with Viewing Angle, which is the case for all LCDs) since we started the Display Technology Shoot-Out article series in 2006, an impressive achievement for a display. The iPhone 6 Plus has raised the bar for top LCD display performance up by a notch."
