The German playmaker has reiterated that he has nothing to prove to his critics.

When Ozil was bought from Real Madrid, everyone thought he was going to be an excellent player for Arsenal. Mesut Ozil was bought on the transfer deadline day from Real Madrid and the Arsenal fans went crazy on hearing about the news.

They thought that the German revolution was coming to the Emirates stadium as they already had Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski. When we looked at Ozil’s record at Real Madrid, we saw that he scored a lot of goals but he was known to create a lot goals.

This is why he had an outstanding assist record. But since the time he has remained at Arsenal, it has been a total nightmare for the German playmaker. Where has it all gone wrong?

Well for starters, he used to play with the best players in the world at Real Madrid. He had Ronaldo, Benzema and Angel Di Maria at his disposal. Ronaldo already scored a lot of goals and Mesut Ozil was the creator of his goals.

And Benzema also made life a lot easier for the German playmaker at Real Madrid. The main reason why he has failed to transfer his Real Madrid form to Arsenal is because the lack of quality players.

Real Madrid had succeeded in replacing Ozil with Luka Modric. Whereas Arsenal never replaced Thierry Henry with a world class striker. In Arsenal, he has Olivier Giroud who isn’t even a regular starter for France.

The only quality player in Arsenal is Aaron Ramsey. But Ramsey is still young and has a long way to go. Ozil found the back of the net in Arsenal’s last game where they thrashed Aston Villa three goals to nil.

He even made one goal for Danny Welbeck. After the game he told the reporters that he doesn’t play for anyone else other than Arsenal and this is why he doesn’t needs to prove anything.

“I don’t play to prove anything to anybody, I play for Arsenal,” Ozil told the German news agency DPA. “I have the feeling that I am criticised more, that happened to me in the Bundesliga and also at Real Madrid.

“We have only just started the season [at Arsenal], we have new players in key positions. The collective game, which is something I have a lot to do with, cannot then just work well from one day to the next.”

“[Just] 10 weeks ago I was elected to the team of the season in England [via an internet poll on the Premier League website].

“I was world champion then. It was the summer break and after a few games [of the new season] everything is called into question again. This is strange, but I know what I can offer.”

Ozil will try to impress Wenger this season as they have acquired Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona. Ozil will try to link up with the Chilean forward to prove the world that he is still one of the best playmakers around.
