The company has confirmed Only 9 Users Have Been Affected So Far

We are quite sure that you have had your share of the Bendgate coverage which has been all over the social media and everyone is having their fun from it. Numerous reports emerged soon after the iPhone 6 was released which revealed a possibility that the iPhone 6 could bend while in the pocket. Though we were aware of the fact that the body was made from aluminum which is a soft, malleable metal and was never expected to make the iPhone 6 into a robust phone but still these reports from users came as a shock.

With all the havoc wrecked on the social media platforms, it seemed as if this was becoming a mainstream problem with the iPhone 6 but Apple couldn’t obviously just stand there and watch its reputation burn so it did stand up and confirmed that so far only 9 users have been affected by this mishap. However we are looking forward to getting more complaints of this sort because the iPhone 6 is in a lot of hands as we can see how Apple broke a record after ten million iPhone 6 / 6 Plus units.

It had been generally accepted that only a minority of handsets had been damaged in this way, but with Twitter and Reddit, among others, being such pivotal figures in the Digital Age, Bendgate became a thing almost overnight. Though some people had been saying that the phones went through the real world tests and passed almost effortlessly, it seems important to notice that a ‘bending’ test wasn’t part of any of this testing.

Apple’s statement in response to this said "iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus meet or exceed all of our high quality standards to endure every day, real life use. With normal use a bend in iPhone is extremely rare and through our first six days of sale, a total of nine customers have contacted Apple with a bent iPhone 6 Plus."
