According to a report by The Information, you may be seeing a few more Google apps preloaded on future Android devices.

A recent report from The Information has revealed that Google is now going to require more of its apps to be preloaded on Android devices. This information has been obtained from some confidential reports which got to the media somehow and hence we got to know about this upcoming change beforehand. The reports say that Google is going to require 20 of its apps preloaded as opposed to the current number well below 10.

It doesn’t end here because it is not just about the numbers. In addition to this increment in the numbers, Google will also require the apps to be prominently displayed on a device’s homescreen. Those heavily affected by this change will be the manufacturers in Google’s contracts which include Samsung, HTC, and Huawei among others.

According to what we have speculated and what appears to be more logical, this shift n Google’s policy towards its own Android apps is hugely associated with the ever-increasing importance of the OS as a major income generator. As far as the apps and services are concerned, they have truly become a very important part of the company’s bottom line.
