Mage Gauntlet Game Review

Mage Gauntlet is a classical type action role playing game developed by Noodlecake Studios. This game represents the 90’s 2D action games a lot as can be seen by the use of graphical exposures.

  • The Android version of this game was first released in the 22nd of September 2014.
  • The full download and installation will take 32MB of your disk space.
  • Android 2.3 is the minimum requirement for this game. If you have a later version, the experience of the game will be even better.
  • It will cost you $1.77 to buy from the app store.

In Use

  1. The game control is simple. You have to move Lexi, the young girl, to any direction you like by simply dragging her on the screen.
  2. Mage Gauntlet provides some virtual buttons which are very useful. If you want Lexi to get involved in an action, you can use the attack button which will trigger the weapon equipped with her already.
  3. You can anytime pause the game and cast a magic spell by tapping on the on-screen magic signs.
  4. There is a short tutorial on the playing options; you can give it sometime and skip in your later games.

  • The game successfully brings back a classic feel by the original 16-bit graphical interface.
  • There is no quest for precious things like some common games and a smooth fast playing option with continuous on-screen action.
  • The varieties in different levels make it an enjoyable game the whole time.
  • The sound is awesome and it perfectly matches to the game story.

  • Not a good game if you don’t like to get back to the oldies and the 16-bit look.

What Mage Gauntlet does is that it brings back the gaming experience that you’ve long forgot. There is no way it could beat the modern action strategy games, but if you want to go for classics, then this game is just made for you. An important thing is that you’ll find some modern tactics applied in a classic game which can be very enjoyable for you.
