Apple has now the largest iPad line-up ever. Apple has announced two new iPads and keeps three old iPads in the line-up creating a wide range to choose from.

Apple has unveiled two new iPads yesterday with the iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 3. At first it was not clear why Apple is keeping the numbers when the company unveiled the devices yesterday during the media event. It became clear when Apple revealed that the original iPad Air and the original iPad mini stay in the new iPad line-up.

Now the iPad starts at $249. For this price you get the iPad mini that was first sold in 2012. That low-cost iPad does not have a Retina display. The iPad mini with Retina Display is now called iPad mini 2 and starts at $299. The new iPad mini 3 sells for $399. The old iPad Air sells also for $399 and the new flagship iPad Air 2 sells for $499.

Which iPad will you choose? It really depends for whom it is and what the main use is. The main advantages of the newest generation iPads are the Touch ID sensor, thinness, lower weight, higher performance and improved screen.
