Pay TV company Sky will launch a Star Wars channel in Germany in December.

Star Wars fans in Germany are in for a big treat. Sky will offer Sky Star Wars HD channel from Dec. 1st to Dec. 14th. The channel will run only Star Wars movies, documentaries and featurettes 24 hours a day.

Sky's motivation is to pass the wait to Star Wars Episode VII for Star Wars fans. The new Star Wars movie is still over one year away.

The Star Wars HD programming includes all six Star Wars movies, two exclusive
In the Life of…" episodes with Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker who have been working on all six films as the droids C-3PO und R2-D2.

Sky is transforming their current channel Sky Hits into the Star Wars HD channel for the two weeks in December. Sky had to make a special deal with Disney and Lucasfilm for this Star Wars extravaganza.
