The Nets Need Brook Lopez Than Ever Before

Brook Lopez is in deed a real shooter. The Nets player does not seem to give up despite the many injuries that he has suffered through the past three years. Lopez has actually been on and off the court. BR has learned that the Nets are yet to accept that their center is in deed injured. The team is actually banking on his performance.

Though a previous statement that was posted on the team's website indicated that the player was nursing some broken bones, the teams medical director, termed the injury as minor. "X-ray and CT scan studies done Thursday in New York reveal no fractures or bone injuries," Nets medical director Dr. Riley Williams II said. "Brook has been diagnosed with a mild midfoot sprain and is likely to be out for approximately 10-14 days."

Lopez's injury could easily spell doom to the Nets. So far the player has not participated in 134 matches. The star could have probably played more than 17 games during the recently ended season but was cut shot by an injury that he suffered towards the closure of the season in Philadelphia on December 20.

Lest we forget, doctors had to carry out two operations on Lopez's right foot. The operations were done to maintain a fifth metatarsal that had been fractured. A first metatarsal was also reconstructed. Besides that, medics had to relocate a bone in his right foot for the sake of shielding the area that was injured.

And as if that was not enough for the Nets player, doctors had to reconstruct a torn tendon and a ligament in his left ankle. The operation was carried out back in March 3. Now with all those injuries, there is no guarantee that the player will be up to the game in the forthcoming season.

The Nets can not afford to go without Lopez. He is the best center that the NBA has ever had. As a matter of fact, he is not an ordinary center because scoring is like child's play to him. In fact he does it with some oomph by not jumping to shoot.
