Bose’s recent lawsuit has Apple on the offensive

When Apple purchased Beats for $3 billion over the summer, there were very few people who knew what the company was in for. With the recent developments in the courts, it seems they have bought themselves a fresh feud with yet another company.

Bose has sued Beats over five of their patents, claiming that they have all been violated with the noise-cancelling technology that is used in Beats headphones. Since Apple now owns the company, it falls into their lap. They settled the issue privately October 10th, but that doesn’t mean that Apple is through with Bose just yet.

In response to the lawsuit, Apple made a quiet move and silently pulled all of the Bose products that they carry from the Apple Stores brand-wide. This came without any kind of official announcement and without much notice, but it has definitely happened.

This could be something that expedites the process of unifying Beats and Apple, though, since so far they have been quiet about what their future plans are for the headphones company, outside of speculation that they really wanted the music streaming platform. if they had been ready to kill the headphones, this will be what changes their minds.

We will surely have to wait a while before we know anything about the future of Beats for sure. Apple has yet to make any official announcements outside of announcing that they had purchased them, so speculation is likely to continue until they are ready for the public to know exactly what they have in store.
