Fitbit Surge is supposed to be a fitness superwatch.

Fitbit moves ahead from simple fitness bands to full fitness smartwatch with the upcoming Fitbit Surge. The $249 smartwatch leaked on the weekend on The Verge. Fitbit thinks the Fitbit Surge is a fitness superwatch. The Fitbit Surge offers GPS tracking, PurePulse heart-rate monitoring, real-time workout tracking and Fitbit's 24/7 activity tracking.

The Fitbit Surge is not a full smartwatch like the Apple Watch or Android Wear based models. It is entirely focused on fitness. It seems though be the most advance fitness wearable for athletes that take tracking really seriously.

Besides the Fitbit Surge, the company will also release the Fitbit Charge HR and Fitbit Charge fitness wearables.

As reported earlier, Microsoft is entering the smartwatch segment with a Microsoft Watch in the next weeks according to a Forbes report.
