The Hoverboard from Back to the Future might be indeed become a reality.

The Hoverboard from Back to the Future movie is still on minds of many sci-fi fans. Just earlier this year Funny or Die pranked the world with a fake Hoverboard product video. While the Huvr was fake, the Hendo Hover is real. The California company Arx Pax has created a working Hoverboard that has a hefty price tag of $10,000. The plan is to deliver the Hendo Hover on Oct. 21, 2015. Back to the Future fans know that this is the date Marty McFly arrives in the future in Back to the Future 2.

The draw of a Hoverboard is strong that the Kickstarter project for the Hendo Hoverboard has already reached almost $200,000. The goal is $250,000, which the project should reach soon. The first 10 hoverboards priced at $10,000 are sold out.

The current HENDO hoverboard can float about 1-inch off the ground. The prototype is real and it works, but the work is not finished. Arx Pax tries to get the finishing touches done with the help of other developers via its Kickstarter project. The HENDO hoverboard secret are its four disc-shaped hover engines. These create a special magnetic field which literally pushes against itself, generating the lift which levitates our board off the ground.

Arx Pax core technology is something called Magnetic Field Architecture (MFA). The Hoverboard is a first product that is leading the way to create broader applications of MFA for transport solutions.
