The iPad Air 2 sets new standards for tablet performance.

The new iPad Air 2 goes on sale this week. Today the iPad Air 2 reviews of the tech pundits got released. No surprises there. It is the best iPad, but it also is evolutionary and not revolutionary, but that is enough. The iPad Air 2 is taking the iPad to new performance heights though. It is beating older MacBook Air notebooks.

John Gruber at Daring Fireball highlights the fact that the iPad Air 2 beats the 2011 MacBook Air in Geekbench performance. The new A8X CPU and 2GB RAM are pushing the iPad Air 2 well beyond the iPhone 6 in performance.

Apple made a statement by giving the ultra-thin iPad Air 2 outstanding performance. The iPad Air 2 is 6.1 mm thin and weighs less than a pound. The new iPad Air 2 features an improved Retina display for enhanced contrast and richer, more vibrant colors, and better cameras for taking stunning photos and videos. Available in gold, silver and space gray, the new iPad Air 2 offer Touch ID so users can unlock their iPad with just the touch of a finger and make purchases easily and securely within apps using Apple Pay.

iPad Air 2 with Wi-Fi models is available for a suggested retail price of $499 for the 16GB model, $599 for the 64GB model and $699 for the 128GB model. iPad Air 2 with Wi-Fi + Cellular models will be available for a suggested retail price of $629 for the 16GB model, $729 for the 64GB model and $829 for the 128GB model. iPad mini 3 with Wi-Fi models will be available for a suggested retail price of $399 for the 16GB model, $499 for the 64GB model and $599 for the 128GB model. iPad mini 3 with Wi-Fi + Cellular models will be available for a suggested retail price of $529 for the 16GB model, $629 for the 64GB model and $729 for the 128GB model.
