J.K. Rowling will release a new story set in the Harry Potter world next week.

J. K. Rowling has a big surprise for Harry Potter fans on Halloween, October 31. She will release a new story set in the Harry Potter world on Halloween as a treat. The new 1,700 word story tells a rich back story about Dolores Umbridge’s life filled with many new details, as well as Rowling’s revealing first-person thoughts and reflections about the character.

Umbridge is not only one of the most malicious Potter characters says the announcement, but the witch is the only person other than Lord Voldemort to leave a permanent physical scar on Harry. Umbridge was one of Harry Potter's teachers. She appeared for the first time in the 5th Harry Potter book, The Order of the Phoenix.

Pottermore started to tease the Halloween Harry Potter story earlier this week.

Expect the Umbridge story to land on on October 31. Via
