  • J.J. Abrams announced the premiere with a picture of a hand-written and hand drawn placard on Twitter.

The fans of the franchise can go and watch the 88 second long clip at the assigned 30 theaters all around the country. Disney would be showcasing the teaser at its own theaters as well

It has been exciting news since J.J. Abrams announced that they will be making the next installment of the Star Wars epic. Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been pretty much a hope to all the fans who thought they would never see the amazing saga again. Disney co-signed on production rights.

The Force Awakens signed on Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford to return to the classic roles of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo from the original Star Wars trilogy.

New cast members include established stars Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Max von Sydow, John Boyega and Andy Serkis, British newcomers Daisy Ridley, Pip Andersen and Christina Chong. The list of stars was announced by Disney in April and since then various photos have been in route online to keep the fans hooked.

However J.J. Abrams and Disney thought that the wait should not be prolonged very much and they have decided to give the audience their first sequential film glance in form an 88 seconds trailer. It’s not being released online. It’s not going to be premiered on ABC during drama breaks.

Disney and Abrams know how to do it in style. The teaser is going to be screened in 30 theaters nationwide. Abrams felt it wise to publish a hand written placard announcing by his production company Bad Robot; telling fans about the screening of the teaser in selected theaters and wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

The background of the placard had a TIE Aircraft destroying something. We could anticipate from the drawing that the Empire has returned once more with no good intentions. The story has been thought to continue where it left out i.e. for the search of the Death Star.

It isn’t the first time the Star Wars is releasing its trailer in a completely unique way but this time, when technology is available so abundantly, many have questioned whether it is a good idea to release it in theaters, especially in selected theaters where fans would have to come so long just to watch 88 seconds of footage.

Disney’s decision to release the trailer is also being questioned. The movie is not set to release until December next year so giving everyone a glimpse so soon might be off putting to the movie’s suspense. The production knows better though and it would definitely be an experience to ride out and watch the teaser with their friends. It’s an experience worth spending $15 on.
