Sony is shifting the contemporary focus from functionality to the outer appearance.

No matter how advanced technology gets, there is always going to be a limit to the extent new things can be introduced to a particular platform. When this happened to the mobile industry, the manufacturers started trying out their luck in the smartwatch zones where there was more possibility of success and also more room for innovation. However, the smarwatches which we have today are more or less the same and they all serve as the mini smartphones on our wrists, with not so attractive outward appearances. If you are one of those who haven’t been smitten by a smartwatch design, then Sony might be busy building something for you.

After the fitness band SmartBand Talk, the Japanese company is currently working on something even more interesting. However, the most prominent aspect of their undergoing project is going to be its point of differentiation; Sony has promised to deliver a smartwatch which is going to focus more on the looks and the design. Some things have been revealed by sources close to Sony who claim that the smartwatch is going to give all its display load to the band instead of the display itself.

Most of the smartwatches available in the market are somewhat based on the same technologies and they also look the same. There have been little variations and so far there hasn’t been a drastic change which would really make us swoon over a smartwatch. So let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that Sony managed to bring something which would help it stand out of the usuals in the market.
