A new survey finds senior-level employees more likely to shop for Cyber Monday deals on Monday during work hours. You can tell you manager on Monday that you already got better Cyber Monday deals on Sunday.

Cyber Monday has faced criticism in the past to drain productivity as people shopped for deals at work when they came out of the weekend. This is not quite true anymore finds a new survey from Careerbuilder. The number of U.S. workers planning to shop at work for Cyber Monday deals dropped from 54% last year to 47% this year.

The reasons for the drop is mostly attributed to the early launch of Cyber Monday sales. Walmart and Amazon kicked off the Cyber Monday 2014 sales events on Saturday and most other Cyber Monday sales will begin on Sunday. The Target Cyber Monday sale has launched in full today with all announced deals. This means that consumers actually need to shop Cyber Monday on Sunday to not loose out on the best deals.

An interesting result of the Cyber Monday 2014 survey is that senior-level employees are more likely to shop for deals during work hours. The difference is 7%. The survey defines senior-level employees with senior management (CEO, CFO, Senior VP, etc), vice presidents, directors, managers, supervisors and team leaders).

If you spot your boss shopping Cyber Monday during work you can actually make fun of him as he will not get the best deals anymore as these sold on Sunday.

In case you plan on shopping Cyber Monday during work hours on Monday, consider that 24% of companies surveyed have fired someone for non-work related Internet use.

Rosemary Haefner, Vice President of Human Resources at CareerBuilder says "So long as productivity and customer service meet expectations, many employers are lenient in regards to a small amount of holiday shopping at work. It's still advisable, however, to be mindful of your company's Web guidelines, as one in four managers tell us they've fired employees for non-work related use of the Internet."

We at I4U News recommend to complete most of your Cyber Monday shopping on Sunday. There will be some surprise Cyber Monday deals during the actual Cyber Monday, Dec. 1st. Check our Cyber Monday Deals page and Cyber Monday Hub for updates.
