North Korea has even proposed a joint investigation into the attack

Following the hacking incident at the Sony Pictures Entertainment, the US has blamed North Korea for involvement in the crime but the country has denied having any sort of involvement with this attack and has proposed that they get together with the US to solve the issue at hand. To put itself back in a stronger position, the statements from the country have also being saying that the US would have to face some serious consequences if it refuses to cooperate on this matter.

The allegations have apparently been based on the concluding remarks from the FBI which has held North Korea responsible and said in a statement that “We are deeply concerned about the destructive nature of this attack on a private sector entity and the ordinary citizens who worked there.”

“The U.S. should bear in mind that it will face serious consequences in case it rejects our proposal for joint investigation and presses for what it called countermeasure while finding fault with the [Democratic People’s Republic of Korea],” a spokesman for North Korea’s foreign ministry told state media KCNA on Saturday.

The hack, having been carried out by a group called the “Guardians of Peace” has forced Sony to cancel the release of its movie ‘The Interview’ which is being portrayed as being the reason behind the hack which has targeted the company’s executives and celebrities. The movie was about a plot to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and starred Seth Rogen and James Franco.
