Apple to renovate store ambience ahead of Apple Watch launch

Jony Ive and retail head Angela Ahrendts have joined their efforts to redesign Apple retail stores ahead of Apple Watch release.

With $74 billion of revenue and net profit of $18 billion after the launch of its phenomenal iPhone 6, the tech giant has organized even bigger plans ahead of yet another innovative Apple Watch’s launch. Company heads including the chief designer Jony Ive and retail head Angela Ahrendts have joined their efforts to redesign Apple retail stores. This strategy is expected to assist Apple for better growth in sales as it will be a unique approach to target customers.

Apple Watch announcement was made last year in September 2014. The tech giant will begin the shipments by April 2015, as the customers will be able to order the gadget online through various retail stores as well as Apple’s website. According to the analysts, Apple wants to provide customers with the feeling that they have approached the right place to buy a watch. Since the Apple Watch is expected to be a smart watch as well as a fashion accessory at the same time, the company would definitely like to keep that appeal by bringing a major change in its retail store design.

The overall Apple retail stores are without carpets, however, Jony Ive has stated that he overheard somebody mentioning that they would not buy a watch from a store that does not have a carpeted floor. It can be well expected that Apple is planning to apply a major change in the retail store’s ambience. Though the design strategy has not been released yet, it is expected that Apple Watch area in the retail store would be for VIP only. It is also reported that Angela Ahrendts is heading the project of major alterations in the current ambience of Apple’s retail stores, which includes the seating areas as well.

All the major changes in the Apple stores are expected to be completed by April 2015, before the launch of Apple Watch. According to analysts, Ive is currently playing a critical role in the successful launch of the company’s upcoming product, since his role is linked with every department. Ive was promoted as the in-charge of both hardware and software design of future products by Apple.
