John Mayer recently gave an interview in which all the rumors were put to rest by Mayer as he went on to say Taylor was very cool for taking over Spotify.

John Mayer recently sat down to talk about music and technology. While you talk about the most recent trends in music, how can you not talk about the one singer dominating the musical scene who also happened to be his ex-girlfriend and the inspiration for one of her most hit heart break song “Dear John’. The singer went through some tough times in his real life when the song came out and had little to say about it.

He diverted his attention to explaining himself as a ‘recovered ego addict’.

So when Taylor Swift was mentioned, instead of talking about the past, Mayer just moved to talk about how cool it was that she had grown into such a big star and she was taking over the music industry and so many links like Spotify.

He appreciated that the stars had so much attention with 80 percent of the media focused on them so when those stars talk about people for whom that attention is never given. So when you do talk about people, it should be for the things that ought to be talked about and that includes the star of the conversation being such a superstar called Taylor Swift and it is really cool that she has taken over Spotify.

When the topic rose to whom his song “Paper Doll” was about because a lot of people thought that it was a retort to her song about him, “Dear John”. He said that he was not the kind of person who got into argument about whom his songs were based on. He wanted to sing a song, he doesn’t have to reveal whom it is about.

As far as Taylor is concerned, she is an artist and he is an artist, they were both rich and young so they had the right to enjoy life instead of being sad about what had gone down in the past. Instead of obsessing over things that might have been, it would be better to consider how bright, successful and long our career and lives will be.
