The Grammy award-winning group’s lead guitarist got into an altercation with his brother and ended up being stabbed in the head.

The guitarist of the masked metal rockers, Slipknot, Mick Thomas, 41, was drunk at home when he started a knife fight with his brother, Andrew Thomas, from Des Moines. Both men were under influence of alcohol and soon their fight turned into an aggressive altercation.

The fight got too exciting that they both went to the front yard and stabbed each other. Knife fights are reportedly a normal thing in the Thomas household. But this fight got too messy and one of the neighbors called the police, when things seemed to be getting out of hand.

The knife fight turned into a physical brawl. The guitarist ended up with a wound in the head and it took a while for the police to break up the two fighting siblings. After they had been separated, it was easy to see that they were both drunk.

Clive Police Chief, Michael Venema, told KCCI that neither of them were very cooperative during the break up. It took a lot of effort to actually break them apart. The brothers were rushed into separate ambulances and taken to a hospital. According to the police, none of the injuries are life-threatening and the Thomas brothers are expected to make full recoveries from their injuries.

Slipknot frontman, Corey Taylor, tweeted on the behalf of his bandmate, assuring fans that Mick was quite alright and he will be out and about in no time. The group is scheduled to be on tour this year after they released their 5th studio album: The Gray Chapter.

The group will be embarking on a North American Summer’s Last Stand tour starting off in Florida and it will also include a trip to Europe, participating in a string of festival dates including a headlining slot at this year’s Download alongside Muse and KISS.
