DreamWorks animated movie Home takes weekend box office crown with $54m domestic.

DreamWorks has another hit animated movie on their hands with Home. The movie tells the story of Oh, an alien on the run from his home planet. He lands on Earth and makes friends with Tip, who is on her own mission. In the movie the discover the true meaning of Home.

Home took the top spot in the weekend box office raking in $54 million domestic according to Rentrak. Home pushed Get Hard down to #2 and Insurgent settled at #3. Home has been not that well received by critics. The performance has surprised industry insider. One of the reason why the movie did well are its celebrity voices. The cast includes Jim Parsons, Rihanna and Steve Martin, Jennifer Lopez.

Plot of Home:

When Oh, a loveable misfit from another planet, lands on Earth and finds himself on the run from his own people, he forms an unlikely friendship with an adventurous girl named Tip who is on a quest of her own. Through a series of comic adventures with Tip, Oh comes to understand that being different and making mistakes is all part of being human. And while he changes her planet and she changes his world, they discover the true meaning of the word HOME.
